Energy Units for Transport and Small Power

The main aim of the program is specialists training in the area of design, service and maintenance of energy unites for cars, water, railway and air transportation and small power distribution.

Education program is tasked with universal and professional competencies formation, which correspond not only with modern educational standards, but also with demands of employers.

Program is designed with modern trends of power plant industry taken into consideration. During his studies student will not only receive significant knowledge on development and application of heat engines using traditional fuel sources, but also reviews alternative fuel sources, e.g. hydrogen etc.

Now we can observe a serious lack of specialists in terms of design of environmentally safe energy units in Russia and foreign countries alike, as a result, graduates of this educational program will always be demanded at the labor market. Right now, the leading enterprises and specified research institutions employ them.

Program is designed with demands of CDIO international educational standards and demands of potential employers to the quality of future engineers training.

During their studies students will be allowed to have an internship at the future job place, as well as internship if foreign institutions.

Students who mastered the program receive general higher technical education in addition with management and engineer skills. This allows to apply student’s knowledge and skills in any type of activity, including during establishment of own business project.

Special aspects of the program

The main aspect of the program is in-depth study of disciplines, associated with the reestablishment of Russian gas-driven turbine industry. Scientific school, created based on specialized department and lacking local industrial analogues of small size regenerative gas-turbine engine, managed to achieve leading positions in the area of specialists training on major and additional subjects. Starting from 2010 department carries out works on application of alternative fuel sources for hear engines and energy active materials. Works undergo to create hydrogen-producing reactor. Hydrogen reactor stand is work-in-progress. All of those projects are included into academic process as disciplines, both thematically and by context.
