Moscow Polytech Vice-President for Scientific Affairs Comments on Development of Electric Transport in Capital

Moscow Polytech vice-president for scientific affairs Anton Nalivaiko believes that the launch of a plant for the production of lithium-ion batteries next year should completely meet the needs of the capital’s transport complex.

And also, gives additional impetus to the development of electric transport in the regions of the country”, the vice-president quoted as saying.

Moscow is now one of the world leaders where electric transport is actively used and developed. This is confirmed by statistics: 80% of all passenger traffic is accounted for by this type of transport. As a result, such modern cars make up a unified transport system that meets all international standards. In addition, taxi and car sharing vehicles are switching to electric traction. For this purpose, new scientific, technical and research centers are being created. Thus, Moscow Polytechnic University has established and been actively developing an Advanced Engineering School of Electric Transport where technical solutions are being developed for key companies in the sphere of electric car manufacturing. I would like to pay special attention to the process of electrification of municipal equipment. Both in terms of ecology and in terms of operational efficiency, the electrification of harvesting machines is an important task, which industrial partners of the University and AES specialists are involved in, – the vice-president says.

Reference: The Advanced Engineering School of Electric Transport was created in 2022 under assistance of industrial partners of the University. “Kamaz”, “Mercator”, “Avtotor” are Russian national leaders in the sphere of automotive industry. The School has opened intake of students for perspective master programs "Racing Engineering", "Engineering Design", "Automotive Mechatronics", "Software Engineering in the Automotive Industry" and "Highly Automated Vehicles". The teaching staff includes experts from leading companies in the Russian automotive industry, and all training is focused on the needs of the modern market.
