In his interview to Rubase Vladimir Miklushevskii, the president of Moscow Polytechnic University, spoke about the role of entrepreneurship in modern educational system and the business-possibilities that Moscow Poly provides for its students.
According to the president, major courses cannot substitute University education and this fact was proven by the enrollment company 2020: in spite of the fact that school leavers were allowed not to take the Unified National Exam if they don`t plan to enroll in a University, the amount of first-graders remained the same.
Vladimir Miklushevskii highlighted that higher education is essential for entrepreneurs as it lays the essential foundation, provides special skills, teaches students to work in teams and develops communicative skills.
“We have a major additional course – “Technological entrepreneurship”. We try to give our students opportunities for their full development, for example, our course “Project training” is essential for all the courses of education and contributes to student`s development. This course helps the students to learn the process of team work and try different roles – from an employee to the head of a project. Our extra-curriculum activities help the students improve their creativity. All these factors help our students to become real professionals, even in the field of entrepreneurship”, - says the president.
He also mentioned that the approach to the educational process itself is changing nowadays, that`s why there`s a special ecosystem in the University which provides students with professional skills, knowledge, additional courses or even a future place of work during their studies.
Moscow Poly took part in the “Sprint Up” project, implemented by the Moscow Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development. The aim of the project was to build the culture of entrepreneurship and sustainable interest to this subject among youth and students. In the terms of the project students listened to online lectures, to the advice of successful entrepreneurs and took part in interactive webinars.
