“Russian Education. Tashkent-2021” International Exhibition-Fair

International exhibition-fair “Russian Education. Tashkent-2021” opened its doors at Tashkent State University of Economics during the period from October 5 to October 7, 2021. The exhibition-fair also hosted a project with a subject titled: “Organization and execution of educational events, aimed at the popularization of the Russian vocational education and attraction of compatriots and foreign citizens from the CIS member states to study in the Russian Federation”.

Thousands of people visited the opening day, including Pavel Shevtsov, the Deputy-Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, Komildzhon Karimov, the First Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education of Uzbekistan, Kongratbay Sharipov, the Rector of Tashkent State University of Economics, and Semen Kustov, the Vice-President of Kuban State University.

Pavel Shevtsov appreciated the help of the Uzbek party in the organization of the event and mentioned that the exhibition-fair would attract the interest of the younger Uzbekistan generation towards the Russian education.

Komildzhon Karimov noted during his speech, that cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan in the area of education was a strategic one: new branches of Russian universities were opened in the Republic, 31 higher educational institutions participated in the joint educational programs, and more than 100 cooperation programs were realized. Kongratbay Sharipov further mentioned that Russia and Uzbekistan were in common educational space due to joint internships and the organization of scientific events.

An honorable guest Vikenty, Metropolitan of Tashkent and Uzbekistan, told the participants about the educational grants of the Russian Orthodox Church.

The opening ceremony concluded with the high-ranking guests cutting the ribbon.

By that time exhibition halls were already crowded with potential applicants, willing to know more about the possibilities of the Russian education. Pupils were listening to representatives of the universities. The event was visited not only by future graduates but also by a younger audience who were already planing for the future. They could find out answers about the application, future specialty, learn about interesting projects and the events, hosted by the university.

Zulpfia Bashirova, the head of the International Education Centre of Ilya Ulyanov State Pedagogical University, explained the meaning of the slogan: “Firstly, we give a sound academic background. Secondly, we provide lots of support to the applicants. The pedagogical approach itself shows that we contribute to the formation of a healthy generation”.

The representatives not only presented their respected universities but also told about their hometowns with a passion. The exhibition invited more than 30 universities from various cities of Russia, so it was worth visiting at least for personal enrichment. Applicants were able to discover new Russia.

The exhibition-fair hosted the “B2B” conference during its first day, where the representatives from Russian and Uzbek universities could talk with each other in order to develop partnerships. There were lots of interesting proposals and ideas during the meeting and the live format promoted more sincere and warm conversations. Each university had something unique. Siberian State Aerospace University developed its third student satellite, while two had been launched into space. The participation was not limited only to technician students. Yulia Davydova, the representative of Moscow Polytechnic University, told about “The Smart City” project. Alisher Abidzhanov, the Vice-President of Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, said that despite the linguistic specialty of his university other scientific areas, like information technologies or computer linguistics, were necessary for the development of cooperation. Usman Sharifxodjayev, the First Deputy Minister of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, mentioned that the exhibition-fair would allow pupils to make a conscious choice of their future occupation and feel the potential of the Russian education.

The exhibition also hosted a lecture by Lyubov Kozyreva, a graphic designer and a member of the Designer Union of Russia. The lecture titled “Design Branding” described the future prospects of the designer profession, the influence of brands on our lives, and how to become a brand yourself.

Mikhail Shvydkoy, the Special Presidential Envoy for the International Cultural Cooperation, also visited the exhibition, thus proving that the conference also promoted cultural exchange between two countries. As was mentioned by Ekaterina Fibih, a representative of the University of Siberia, “We feel ourselves not like foreigners, but like guests and we come here with a great pleasure”.
